Milk White Steed

Painting Description

White buggy horses are rare in Mennonite country, so I was immediately drawn to this carriage as it passed me near Linwood. The Mennonites seem to specialize in dark steeds for their buggies although light-coloured, if not white, draft horses are occasionally found. My interest was the juxtaposing of the white horse with the dark of the buggy, the driver and the trees.
