Looking Downstream from the Base of the Pioneer Tower

Painting Description

Looking across the Grand River towards Doon, the landmarks, the Doon Presbyterian Church and the Homer Watson House, are obscured from view at this time of the year. The tower and those buildings on the other side speak so strongly of the history of this region. I find it very pleasant to visit this area and consider all the changes that have occurred in this region since the Mennonite settlement almost two hundred years ago. (Plein air)
