Painting Description

Following lunch in a small restaurant on the tip of Ile Saint-Louis, we strolled around the island’s perimeter checking out the neighbourhood. As we walked we gloried in the beauty of the views across the Seine. Stopping to admire the back of Notre Dame with its flying buttresses, we left this tiny village within Paris and headed back to our hotel near the Louvre. As we walked, we admired the sunlit Pont Marie. The light following a heavy shower was intermittent. Just the sort of dramatic illumination that I favour.
