Herd of Pigs

Painting Description

This pretty farm just northeast of Linwood is home to a large herd of pigs. For a Mennonite farmer, thirty pigs could be a large group. Of course real commercial pork operators would see that number as barely a start. By keeping many small areas of agriculture in play, a Mennonite farmer is able to exploit any opportunity in an area where the price is likely to rise. In fact on my last visit to this crossroads farm, the pigs were gone and young cattle were in the field.
