Fishing Sheds, Nova Scotia

Painting Description

The stages, stepped down the hill from the colourful houses and fishing sheds, stand empty waiting for the boats to return to this small harbour in Nova Scotia.

My brother-in-law and his family lived in Nova Scotia for 10 years which is the lure to take us to that picturesque part of the country. Knowing nothing about the fishing business, I was fascinated by the look of the wee settlements that perched on the edge of the sea. I am sure that the facts of living off fishing were not all harsh but the scenery was so pretty.
