Down in the Gorge

Painting Description

My connections with the Elora Gorge are numerous. This scenic spot is a traditional picnic place for Mennonite families as it is easily within horse-drawn distance. Reunions are often focused near here, but obviously not down in the gorge. I have explored the many quiet reaches of this beauty spot. For eight years I was associated with the Grand Valley Foundation which drew me up and down the watershed from Dundock to Dunnville. I think that I can make a good case for the Gorge as the most dramatically attractive section of the Grand River.
