Painting Description

Ever since my time at art college, where I learned of the idea of designing a painting, I have enjoyed taking a relatively simple subject and making a picture. From my standpoint this painting would not be as interesting without the design aspects that are added by the cones, the manhole and the patterns of dirt and snow. For me these are not just left over items to be included because they were there, but rather elements to be positioned for the best pictorial effect.
