David Austen Gardens
This painting is a rather impressionistic view of the Long Garden at the David Austen Nursery in England. My approach is general rather than sharply focused in an attempt to convey the many varied roses that mingle in this modern garden not unlike the coloured strands in a tapestry blended together to make new hues. Although my bride is an avid gardener and garden watcher, none of the gardening desire has rubbed off on me. I still prefer to paint the result of someone elses effort.
