Conestogo River, North of St. Jacobs

Painting Description

This tranquil area in Mennonite Country puts me in mind of the paintings of Homer Watson from the early 1900”s. Not many spaces still exist along the Grand/Conestogo River systems where only one building punctuates the landscape. This peaceful area on the flood plain allows an approximation of an earlier time when quiet could still be heard. That placid quality has drawn me to paint this skein of water.
