Café Joseph

Painting Description

This small café is a gathering spot. Beyond the appeal of painting the townspeople who frequent this spot, I enjoyed the colours that decorate the buildings. Colour combinations like that say “south” to me. These hues remind me of Portugal or Spain. Why don’t we, here in the north, use luscious parts of the spectrum to enliven our cold long winters? Maritime areas such as Newfoundland or Norway could really show us the way.
