The Ausable Conservation Authority used the painting “Sharing” as the centerpiece for their 50th Anniversary. Peter is shown here, photo left, explaining the background for the project which featured the sharing of land between agriculture and recreation. Reproductions of the painting were sold to raise money for the authority and posters were placed in all the liquor stores in Ontario to point out this important anniversary.

I have had an ongoing relationship with a number of conservation areas but chief among them has been the Grand River Conservation Authority. My many years of painting the watershed of the Grand River, has provided me with an opportunity to get out into the country and view not only farming country but also the many small villages and towns that have grown up along this mighty river. For 12 years I was Honorary Chairman of the Grand Valley Foundation, an organization set up to foster interest in and knowledge of the beautiful and unappreciated Grand River Valley.
